Recently, Queen Elizabeth II was watched by a global audience as she appeared to first meet James Bond in Buckingham Palace, and then to leap out of a helicopter. It was , some said, the eighty year old's first acting role.
In fact, ever since she axxeded to the throne in 1952, she has been called upon to play multiple roles. She is, after all, monarch of 15 realms. In addition to the UK, these include Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Jamaica, Antigue and Barbuda, Belize, Papua New Guinea, St Christoper and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Tuvalu, Barbados, Grenada, Solomon Island, St Lucia and the Bahamas. This remarkable list(collectively knowledge as the Commonwealth) is what remains of the British Empire.
According to the official website of the British Monarchy:The Queen abides by the decisions of the New Zealand Government, bot she countinues to play important ceremonial and symbplic roles."
Although she has visited New Zealand 10 times during her regins, it would be impossible to perform all her duties due to the "tyranny of distance" which separates London from Wellington. In her place, as in all territories in her realm, the quwwn appoints a Governor General who lives in New Zealand and who represents the monarch in the country.
By the way, if you have been wondering about the title of this article, "Missis Kwin", it has been accorded to the British monarch by another of her realms:Papua New Guinea. In a local language there, she is also know as "mama belong big family". This puts her role in a nutshell.
