好不容易收到HR來信約面試，卻發現要用英文好苦惱，這時候該怎麼惡補呢

英語面試大家都覺得難，到底是難在哪裡呢？

What can you do prior to the interview?

Self-introduction

相信大家進行面試前的第一步就是準備自我介紹

而這通常也是進入面試的第一道考驗，在準備時要記得：

Don’t go over 3 minutes

Include ONLY the abilities and experience related to the position

Be prepared to be asked about the information you provide

Ending with “That’s all about me, thanks”

另外，自我介紹的內容可以提到一些公司

通常會希望你有的能力和技巧，舉例來說像是：

Problem solving skills	解決問題
Communication skills	溝通技巧
Strong work ethic	職業道德
Negotiation skills	談判技巧
Information seeking, integrating and analyzing skills	資訊找尋整合及分析技巧
Responsible	負責
Integrity	正直
Diligent	勤奮

“One of my strengths is my strong work ethic. When I commit to a deadline, I do whatever it takes to deliver. For example, last week we had a report due and got some numbers back late from our team in Singapore. I pulled an all-nighter to finish the spreadsheet because I knew that the client had to receive the report on time.”

準備好自我介紹的稿子後，接下來就是實地演練

通常這階段你可以這麼做，好讓你正式上場不那麼緊張：

Practice saying the self-introduction in front of a mirror

Ask your friends or family to help

Record what you say

Prepare 2 questions to ask

面試進入尾聲時，公司會反問你有沒有什麼要問的

如果都沒有問題會顯得你對這家公司沒有熱情

但臨時發問好像又腦袋一片空白、想不出來

所以我們最好預先想好兩個問題，讓你不管怎樣都有發問的機會

而通常你可以這樣準備：

Do some research about the company or the position

Ask company or job-related questions

Save the salary discussion at the very last

What should you do during an interview?

面試進行中的動作、態度和姿勢通常也是評分的標準之一

如何在不經意間釋放友善、親切與專業的氣息很重要

一般來說，面試中最好保持：

Keep your posture straight

Don’t forget your smile

Make lots of eye-contact

If you don’t understand, ASK

Ex：Sorry, I didn’t catch the question.

I don’t really understand the question.

Can you please tell me what you mean by…

Never apologize for your English ability

Don’t be nervous, be EXCITED

What can you do post to the interview?

結束面試後大家或許終於鬆了一口氣

但是等待錄取通知又是一段心急焦慮的過程

如果遲遲未收到來信，或許可以可以發函給HR

表示他們辛苦了並送上謝意，順帶也可以詢問面試結果喔！

Send an email to thank the interviewer for the opportunity

另外面試官在面試中常問的問題有：『What’s your greatest weakness?』

如果照實講難免會影響面試官對你的印象分數

也容易讓面試官重新衡量你是否勝任這份工作

所以回答時最好的答案是：

Don’t be too honest

Pick a weakness that is acceptable for the job at hand

Select a weakness that is relatively minor and “fixable.”

How to demonstrate that you are working on your weakness

這樣說或許有點抽象，所以假設今天我的弱點是 fear of public speaking

那麼我會這樣和面試官說：

Honestly, I would say that public speaking is an area that I could work on.

I tend to get nervous when asked to present to a large group of people. In small team meetings, I’m the first one to stand up and present. But put me in front of a big group and I can get flustered.

I took an internal presentation skills class. With some practice, I started to feel more comfortable. Last month, I even volunteered to represent our team at the annual financial report. I only had to present for 10 minutes, but I did it and got great feedback!

It was actually kind of fun, so I plan on continuing to seek out opportunities to improve in this area.
